Commissions

How it works

Getting in touch

This is simple! Get in touch through the 'Contact' tab that you can see at the top of this page or through a DM on Instagram. Send any details you have, and I will get in touch via email to discuss how best to make your commission come to life. This can be through a video call, text or in-person consultation (this is subject to scheduling).

What are you looking for?

Details are important here for this process. It's also okay if you don't have all the details locked down. This is a consultation, not a test. But here are a few questions you can use to give a clearer picture:

Is it an artwork (i.e. a portrait, landscape, a design) or a wearable accessory (i.e. jewellery)?
What is the subject matter?

Are you looking for a specific image like a portrait of a loved one? Or perhaps you have an concept or theme you'd like me to work with, like a mixed media piece featuring nature motifs and inspired by the lyrics of a song. Or maybe you'd like a commemorative artwork for your friend's wedding or your child's birthday.

What is it going to be made of?

As a multidisciplinary artist I can provide a diverse range or combination of media including:

  • textiles (i.e. embroidery)

  • painting

  • printmaking

  • drawing

  • photography

  • collage

Is there a particular size or proportion you want this work to be?

Proportion and medium are factors that can impact the time it takes to complete a piece. The larger the scale of work means that more time will be necessary to complete or you may be advised to find an alternative use of medium or a combination to complete it according to your needs and desires.

Consultation + quote

Once you've sent through your first contact with all the details you can provide, I will touch base and, depending on the level of detail, I may offer a quote then or I will ask to schedule a time when we can have a free consultation regarding your desired outcomes including final product and timeline. If that is not possible, we can discuss things further to ensure that you are getting the best out of this experience.

The initial consultation can occur through video call, phone call, messaging or in-person. (In-person consultations are only available to those in the Sydney region.)

Agreement + deposit fee

The agreement is a client contract that states that you have agreed to the described services/commissioned work, its timeline and the cost of the commission. With the agreement you will be required to pay a 50% deposit up front within a business week of the agreement. This is not refundable. If the payment is delayed, it can mean a delay in the agreed timeline or - in an extremely difficult situation - complete cancellation. No one wants that.

Creation

I get to work making your dream/gift/commission come to life! There may be points in which I may check in with the progress of the work to ensure that it meets your standards and desires.

Final Approval + Payment

A final approval from you to confirm that the commission is completed and you're satisfied with the outcome is then followed by an invoice for final payment. You will receive a receipt once that is through.

Delivery + Shipping

All shipping fees will be included in the final price agreed upon prior to creation. If you are in the Sydney region, however, we may be able to arrange a drop-off or handover in person.
